Pub Sub fans rejoice.

Another Publix is coming to Hampton Roads, this time in Virginia Beach, the company announced Thursday. It will be the city’s first store.

The 50,820-square-foot supermarket will be located at the northeast corner of General Booth Boulevard and Nimmo Parkway, and is expected to open in late 2024, according to spokesperson Jared Glover.

The Florida-based grocery chain established its first location in Hampton Roads in late 2018, when its Williamsburg store opened. Prior to that, interested customers had to drive to Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. That spot opened in February 2018. Another is slated to open in Suffolk, according to an announcement last May, but an official opening date has not been released.

A 50,700-square-foot building also is planned as part of redevelopment at the Old Dominion University campus in Norfolk. Even though officials haven’t said Publix is the potential tenant, design documents submitted last year to the city contain the store’s branding.

Publix does not have any updates to share on the Suffolk store, and has not announced a Norfolk location, Glover said.
